So while a member of a player-created squad, you only see red dots near green dots? I guess I haven't played in squad enough to notice.
I agree with Kal. TacNet should display enemies seen by any member of the team, not just the squad. |

When I squad, I notice that the amount of red dots that are available to me (ie: that show up on radar) are much less. If I leave squad, the amount of red dots (ie: enemy locations) on my radar goes up greatly. My guess would be that when squaded, I only get red dots from enemies that people in my squad see. Whereas, when I'm not squaded I get red dots from enemies, that people NOT in a squad (for public matches, usually half+ of the team) see. This is just an assumption of how this is currently working. Is this working as intended to give a downside to being in a squad, or is it a bug?
I double-checked Cmdr Wang's bug list and this one is not mentioned after Dustbunny posted.
Did anyone notice this behavior prior to the hotfix deployed Feb. 28? i.e. the fix that changed the skirmish default from automatically being placed in a squad to no squad. I suspect the hotfix also changed who can see my uplinks. |

The Squad TacNet shares among the Squad whatever is seen by the individuals. If you are not in a Squad, that condition has only been possibly recently, then you are actually in the Not In A Squad Squad just not a four person version. That would mean the entire list of Mercs not in a Squad will share TacNet information.
However, I believe that TacNet should default to Always Show what the Team sees.
that condition has only been possibly [sic] recently
I think by recently he means as of the hotfix of Feb 28 when the default changed to no squad. But the statement that being in NO squad was not possible, is inaccurate. Before the default changed to no squad, you could leave your squad and be all by your lonesome. I believe under those conditions, I was always able to see enemies on the map as long as they were within the scan radius of any team mate AND any team mate regardless of squad, could spawn on my uplinks.
If all these changes occurred with the hotfix, then CCP is making major changes to squad/team play with no notice and no hint as to why. I certainly would not request this type of behavior.
